Pansy Ho Chiu-king, Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, has secured a permanent injunction from the Hong Kong High Court against a woman who subjected her to a year of harassment and false claims.
Hong Kong High Court Deputy Judge Chow Siu-man handed down on September 30 the judgment of the civil lawsuit filed by Ho, officially issuing a permanent injunction against the defendant, Chen Pengyu.
According to the judgment, the plaintiff Pansy Ho and the defendant Chen Pengyu were complete strangers to one another. However, starting in March 2025, Chen Pengyu not only repeatedly sent emails to MGM management falsely claiming that Ho had offered her a position as Head of Bond Financing at MGM in late 2024, but also submitted forged invoices in April 2025 to demand a so-called commercial consulting service fee of up to HKD 20 million from Ho. Subsequently, Chen issued a letter through a lawyer, threatening to initiate legal action against Ho, her family, and her business partners, while publicly making false statements to coerce payment. Furthermore, the defendant delivered legal documents to Ho’s office and private residence, and even visited Shun Tak Holdings’ Macau office in person to demand a meeting.
Facing persistent harassment, Ho applied to the court for an injunction in accordance with the law. The injunction prohibits the defendant from engaging in any harassing behavior, trespassing on her properties, entering or remaining within a 30-meter radius of the Hong Kong offices of MGM China and Shun Tak Holdings, contacting her via telephone or email, and publishing any false, defamatory, or derogatory materials concerning her.
The judge ruled that the court had jurisdiction to grant the permanent injunction because Chen failed to submit a defense by the statutory deadline.
