Morpheus at City of Dreams, under Melco Resorts & Entertainment, received exciting news yesterday (23rd). In the Michelin Guide Global Hotel Awards 2026, it was elevated from 2 Michelin Keys to the highest tier, winning the prestigious Michelin Key 3-star distinction and becoming Macau’s first ultra-luxury hotel to receive this top global honour in hospitality.

The Michelin Key rating system sets “an exceptional stay experience” as its highest benchmark. Among the 2,832 hotels selected worldwide for the 2026 edition, only 155 were awarded 3 Michelin Keys. Morpheus is also one of just two hotels in Hong Kong and Macau to earn this accolade. The Michelin Guide praised Morpheus for seamlessly blending “futuristic architectural design” with ultra-luxury accommodation, fine dining and bespoke personalised service.

Mr. Lawrence Ho, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, remarked that Morpheus was conceived with the vision of creating a hotel unlike any previously seen in Macau. This honour is attributed to the entire team’s commitment to service excellence, culinary artistry and design quality. He expressed pride in bringing Macau its first Michelin Key 3-star recognition.

Designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid, Morpheus is the world’s first skyscraper built with a free-form exoskeleton structure. It was honoured with the UNESCO Versailles Award and named among the “World’s Most Beautiful Hotels”. This latest highest recognition from the Michelin Guide not only showcases its unique appeal combining luxury accommodation, Michelin-starred dining and immersive art, but also raises the international benchmark for luxury hospitality in Macau once again.
