As one of the celebratory events marking the 70th anniversary of the Macau Fine Arts Association, the exhibition features over 80 exquisite calligraphic works by renowned local calligrapher and philanthropist Ung Si Meng, showcasing Macao’s cultural heritage and deep patriotic sentiments through the art of brush and ink. Ung expressed his hope that gaming operators will continue to support the local cultural and artistic sector in the future.

In an interview, Ung expressed deep gratitude to Sands China for its strong support of the Macau Fine Arts Association and this exhibition. He noted that Sands China provides high-quality, large-scale venues for the cultural and arts community to host exhibitions, which greatly aids Macao’s tourism development. This aligns closely with the SAR Government’s policy to diversify tourism, drive economic growth, and foster cultural prosperity. He expressed confidence that a strong economy brings greater social prosperity and stability, reiterating his wish for gaming operators to maintain their backing of local arts and culture.

Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., highlighted that the exhibition coincides with the 10th anniversary of The Parisian Macao. He stated that Ung’s noble character and artistic achievements align seamlessly with Sands China’s commitment to cultural heritage and community development. Sands China aims to leverage culture and art to connect the community with tourists, enriching the integrated leisure tourism experience while continuing to contribute to Macao’s development as a “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.”

Spanning three exhibition halls, the showcase presents over 80 calligraphic pieces, including hanging scrolls, central scrolls, fan surfaces, and couplets. Having dedicated over half a century to the art, Ung’s clerical script integrates the dynamic elegance of the Cao Quan Stele, the grand power of the Zhang Qian Stele, and the quaint simplicity of the Shi Chen Stele.
