The operator of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore has been fined S$100,000 (approximately $77,800) by the country’s Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) for conducting casino promotional activities without prior approval, according to foreign media reports.

The latest report for the 2025 fiscal year from the GRA stated that the economic penalty against Marina Bay Sands Pte Ltd was based on Section 3(1)(c) of the Singapore Casino Control (Advertising) Regulations 2010, which prohibits implementing or offering casino promotions without prior approval from the regulatory authority.

Data from the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore indicates that this is the first fine faced by Marina Bay Sands since 2019.

Additionally, another licensed casino resort in Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa, operated by Resorts World Sentosa Pte Ltd, was fined in 2019 and has accumulated penalties of S$2.695 million (approximately HK$16 million) for seven violations between 2020 and 2023. The largest single fine was S$2.25 million (approximately HK$13.36 million) in the 2023 fiscal year for failing to comply with required customer due diligence measures.
