U.S. Wynn Resorts has announced that the development of the UAE casino complex project earlier has been commissioned to ALEC Engineering and Contracting LLC, an engineering company based in Dubai, as its main contractor. The project, which was unveiled in early 2022 is located on an artificial island called Al Marjan, one of the UAE member states, and the preliminary work has begun.
In addition, Bauer International FZE, a German-based specialist in foundation works, will be responsible for piling and renovation works for the project and the preparation for construction has been carried out.
Wynn Resorts and its local partners, Marjan Properties, the developer, and RAK Hospitality Holding LLC, the hospitality and leisure business operator, announced the commencement of the Middle East project in January 2022. The facility will include a gaming complex, which is said to involve an investment of US $2,000,000,000. Wynn Group will be an equity partner and responsible for the operation.
In a joint press release issued on Thursday (23 March) by Marjan, RAK Hospitality Holding and Wynn Resorts, the project will be named Wynn Resort and is scheduled to open in early 2027. The project will feature a hotel with more than 1,000 rooms, a high-end shopping mall, state-of-the-art conference facilities, a spa center, more than 10 restaurants and bars, various entertainment options, gaming areas and other amenities.
In February this year, in the Wynn Resort’s earnings call in 4Q22, company CEO Mr. Craig Billings, told investment analysts that the firm was in the process of late-stage planning for the Ras Haima project and that piling works for the project were expected to begin in the year.
