
The South Korean government announced on Wednesday (8 March) that effective from this Saturday (11 March), Chinese tourists including Hong Kong and Macau will no longer be required to submit a COVID-19 virus test certificate or present a negative test certificate at clinics or hospitals within 24 hours upon arrival, while canceling measures to upload a negative result to Q-CODE, but Hong Kong and Macau tourists still need to complete the application for an e-travel permit K-ETA 72 hours before departure. Meanwhile starting from 11 March, visitors from Hong Kong or Macau can enter South Korea through Incheon Airport and airports in other cities, including Busan and Jimu Island.According to a report from the Korean Union, the South Korea Anti-epidemic Department held a meeting on Wednesday. Local officials said that China has been stablesince the Chinese New Year holiday, and no new mutations of the Covid-19 virus has been found. Therefore, it decided to lift all remaining anti-epidemic measures for inboundtravelers from China, Hong Kong and Macau.According to the announcement of South Korea’s consulate in Hong Kong at the end of the month, the requirement for Hong Kong visitors to hold virus test certificate has been extended to 10 March, and flights to Hong Kong and Macau must comply with restrictions of Incheon Airport.
