According to official figures, 181,797 people in Macau had got vaccinated against Covid-19 as of 15 June. The figure is still less than one third of the local population, which is far below the level needed for herd immunity.
During Tuesday’s daily press briefing, a spokesperson from the Health Bureau told reporters that although the government had earlier suggested the possibility of Covid-19 nucleic acid tests for the entire Macau population, there was no immediate timetable for the plan, noting that the government was merely trying to make the best preparations for the worst case scenario.
